In this course senior graphic design majors in their final semester develop their capstone projects, typically working in response to a given topic or prompt, which culminates in a group BFA exhibition and publication that documents their process and outcomes.

Hyperlocal Problems / spring 2018

Topics such as campus recycling and reducing plastics usage to encouraging collaboration between students studying in the the sciences and arts, to gentrification effects on Athens housing. This course culminates in a BFA exhibition in the School of Art galleries.

Community Resiliency / fall 2017


Topics ranged from encouraging campus activism and gardening in education to digital surveillance, mental health and Atlanta traffic congestion.

Process Books

Student design a publication that documents their project from defining the problem and research through design and execution, refinement and final outcome, exhibition and reflection.

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning).
